COMPOSITION

Each ml contains:

Prokain Penicillin G 200 mg

Dihydrostreptomycin sulfate 250 mg

DESCRIPTION

Prokain G penicillin is a narrow-spectrum penicillin that primarily targets gram-positive bacteria (Streptococci, Staphylococci, certain Corynebacteria spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Clostridia spp., Bacillus anthracis) and gram-negative cocci, Leptospira canicola, Campylobacter foetus, and Actinomyces bovis. Dihydrostreptomycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, primarily targets gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli, Proteus vulgaris, Brucella spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Pasteurella spp., and some mycoplasmas. This combination exhibits additive effects (effects accumulate) and shows synergistic effects in certain cases.

INDICATIONS

Prokain penicillin G and dihydrostreptomycin are indicated for the treatment of diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to penicillin and dihydrostreptomycin in large ruminants, horses, pigs, calves, cattle, sheep, and goats. These diseases include respiratory, urinary, and digestive tract infections, metritis, mastitis, osteomyelitis, peritonitis, septicemia, cystitis, bone diseases, and secondary bacterial infections.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to penicillins, aminoglycosides, or procaine. Avoid use in animals with renal dysfunction or impaired hearing and vestibular organs. Long-term use in young animals, like rabbits, chinchillas, and marine mammals, can increase the risk of toxic effects.

ADDITIONAL EFFECTS

Long-term use of high doses can lead to renal, vestibular, and/or hearing dysfunctions, and occasionally hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

INTERACTIONS

Incompatibility with bacteriostatic antibacterial drugs with rapid effect (e.g., Tetracycline, Chloramphenicol, Erythromycin, Linkomycin) and with anesthetics or neuromuscular blocking agents (due to respiratory depression and dyspnea).

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

For deep intramuscular administration:

General dose: 1 ml per 25 kg body weight daily for 3-4 days.

In severe cases, the dose can be doubled.

Note: Shake well before use.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

Meat: 10 days

Milk: 3 days

Store between 8°C and 15°C in a dry, dark place.
