Favetrim Oral Suspension

Antibacterial Oral Suspension

Composition per ml:

Sulfamethoxazole: 400 mg

Trimethoprim: 80 mg

Indications:

Used in cattle, sheep, and goats for gastrointestinal and urinary tract infections, pleuropneumonia, enzootic pneumonia (especially caused by Pasteurella Haemolitica, Pasteurella Multocida, and respiratory virus infections), soft tissue infections, and interdigital and other wound infections. Also used in broilers and turkeys for bacterial diarrhea, colisepticemia, air sac infections, salpingitis, fowl cholera, coryza, and staphylococcal infections.

Usage and Dosage:

Pharmacological Dosage:

For poultry, the pharmacological dosage consists of 2.4 mg of Trimethoprim and 12 mg of Sulfamethoxazole per kg of live weight. Additionally, for cattle, sheep, and goats, the pharmacological dosage consists of 5 mg of Trimethoprim and 25 mg of Sulfamethoxazole per kg of live weight.

Practical Dosage:

Favetrim is administered orally to ducks, geese, and chickens until the onset of their laying activity. For ducks, geese, and chickens, the daily practical dosage is 2 ml per 10 kg of live weight. The practical dosage for poultry, specifically Favetrim Oral Suspension, is 3-6 ml per 100 kg of weight. The daily dosage is divided into two equal parts, morning and evening.
