COMPOSITION
Each ml contains 50 mg Buparvaquone.
DESCRIPTION
Bupaject is a clear, crimson-colored intramuscular injection that contains the active ingredient Buparvaquone. Buparvaquone is an analogue of the antimalarial hydroxynaphthoquinolones. It has antiprotozoal activity in vivo and in vitro.
INDICATIONS
Bupaject Inj. Inj. It is used to treat theileriosis caused by Theileria annulata and T. orientalis (sergenti). It is active against both schizonts and piroplasm of Teyletia species and can be used both during the incubation period of the disease and when there are clear signs of the disease.
ADDITIONAL EFFECTS
In some cases, local, painless, edematous swelling may appear at the injection site.
WARNINGS
Bupaject Inj. cannot be administered intravenously or under the skin. Due to the acute depressant effect of the theileriosis on the immune system, it is advisable to postpone any vaccination until the animal has recovered.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For intramuscular administration to the neck muscle.
Cattle: 1 ml per 20 kg body weight (2.5 mg buparvaquone per kg body weight).
A single injection is usually sufficient. In severe cases Bupaject Inj. continuation of treatment at the same dose is required (usually within 2–3 days after the initial injection).
No more than 10 ml should be injected on one side.
EXCLUSION PERIOD
Milk: 48 hours
Meat: 42 days
STORAGE
It should be stored in a dry, dark place at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C.
